Systems Analyst

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for the design, configuration, testing, implementation and support of technology, i.e., Java, Windows, Android, iOS, MultiSpeak, Oracle and Microsoft SQL databases and SharePoint applications in support of the Cooperative’s strategic initiatives.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Champion business technology needs through the use of existing systems, emerging technology and programs
  • Review and analyze system problems in order to identify solutions
  • Adhere to Software Development Life Cycle
  • Gather requirements from key stakeholders using industry standard requirement elicitation techniques (brainstorming sessions, meetings, and/or workshops)
  • Analyze the requirements for viability against the business objective and determine the requested product’s application to existing or future technology identifying features, advantages, and disadvantages while keeping best business practices in mind
  • Validate the requirements by cross referencing them with other stakeholders and more senior level Analysts
  • Prepare technical requirements documents and detailed functional specifications to include flowcharts and basic technical information
  • Present developed solutions to the Change Control process
  • Manage scope, planning, and tracking deliverables working within IT Projects and Initiatives
  • Organize and conduct business process reviews with business users, stakeholders and external vendors
  • Review documentation created by peers
  • Perform functional testing, i.e., unit, string, process control, security testing, regression, etc. as required to test existing, new or updated functionality
  • Provide second tier support to end users for applications through detailed analysis and troubleshooting of reported issues
  • Provide work and status updates to management
  • Maintain the security of confidential information
  • Stay abreast of advances in technology

 

Supervisory and/or Leadership Responsibilities:   

  • May provide technical direction to others and assist in the development process of less experienced Analysts
  • Lead team meetings and conduct technical project and leadership duties as IT Lead, when assigned

                                    

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of using computer systems, which may include setting up and using hardware and software, entering data, configuration, or processing information
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service
  • Knowledge of SQL Report development for business datasets across two or more core business functions
  • Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle
  • Skilled in time management
  • Skilled in prioritizing and managing changing priorities
  • Ability to lead process reviews and or enhancement efforts
  • Ability to work with limited supervision
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
  • Ability to listen and understand information delivered, verbally or written
  • Ability to anticipate, identify, analyze and resolve conflict and problems

 

Minimum Qualifications – (Education, Experience, Certification, & Licensure):

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Business or related field
  • Directly related experience may substitute for education                                                                                 
  • Six years experience working in a related computer information system environment with emphasis in business analysis and process improvement
  • Two hands-on technical implementations preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License

  • Exempt employees receive a fixed bi-weekly salary to compensate them for all hours worked during each pay period.
