$29.73/ hour Minimum Starting Base Pay* + KPI Bonuses + Competitive Benefits
Qualifications may warrant greater starting base pay within the full pay range. Individual base pay is determined by experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training.
Position Summary-
This position is responsible for providing complex engineering technology support functions and providing technical assistance relating to substation engineering and construction projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities-
- Support and assist engineers and staff in the preparation, design, and evaluation of construction drawings
- Operate computerized drafting software (AutoCAD)
- Provide technical support and training for internal departments
- Oversee and implement the drawing processes for the substation design department

Fulfill Administrator role for drawing database software (Adept) by managing users, access, and drawing organization

Load and index drawings into drawing database

Respond to drawing requests from internal and external sources

Compile existing drawings into packages to be sent to engineers and consultants for projects

Deliver and retrieve substation record drawings in the substation control houses

Update, plot, and post switching one-lines in the substation control houses

Maintain substation information shared on the Intranet, including system one-line, substation one-lines, substation locations and addresses

Draft and update drawings in AutoCAD from field mark-ups by others

Field verify drawings by examining equipment configurations, nameplates, layouts, cable and conduit schedules, one-lines, relay panels, and other sources as necessary

Understand and update electrical schematic and wiring diagrams

Review existing substation drawings and recommend drawing clean-up projects as needed

Work with consultants to manage drawing clean-up projects

Maintain the security of confidential information

Stay abreast of advances in technology

Demonstrate regular and prompt attendance

Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned
Supervisory and/or Leadership Responsibilities- None
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities-
- Knowledge of using computer systems, which may include setting up and using hardware and software programs, entering data or processing information
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service
- Knowledge of Basic Electricity
- Knowledge of Engineering and Construction Processes
- Skilled in Autocad
- Skilled in time management
- Skilled in prioritizing and managing changing priorities
- Ability to use computer systems and computer applications
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Ability to listen and understand information verbally and in writing
- Ability to anticipate, identify, analyze and resolve conflict and problems
Minimum Qualifications- (Education, Experience, Certification & Licensing)-
- Associate Degree in Engineering field or related field
- Three (3) years related work experience
- Experience may substitute for related education
- Maintain a valid Texas Driver's License
