Software Developer, Associate

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for providing minimum software development life cycle duties which include programming, testing, documenting and providing support.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Define changes needed within existing software programs
  • Document changes to revised or new software programs
  • Assist with documentation for various work tasks
  • Maintain status of project responsibilities
  • Create new software programs/applications
  • Maintain and revises existing programs/applications
  • Support software development team by evaluating raw data and reporting results
  • Adhere to established development procedures and guidelines
  • Participate in formal reviews of business requirements and software application designs
  • Assist in defining work request objectives by analyzing requirements
  • Unit test all software changes, including programs modified or developed by other developers
  • Assist in determining and developing approaches to solutions
  • Maintain the security of confidential information
  • Stay abreast of advances in technology

 

Supervisory and/or Leadership Responsibilities:  None

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service
  • Knowledge of relational databases, i.e., Oracle and SQL Server
  • Knowledge of SQL, HTML, .Net, Java, SharePoint, and other development software tools
  • Skilled in time management
  • Skilled in handling multiple tasks, prioritizing and changing priorities
  • Skilled in identifying, analyzing and resolving problems
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Ability to listen to and understand information verbally and in writing
  • Ability to solve non-complex software development problems
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Ability to anticipate, identify, analyze and resolve conflict and problems

 

Minimum Qualifications – (Education, Experience, Certification, & Licensure):

  • Associates degree, preferably in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math
  • Directly related experience may substitute for education
  • Valid driver’s license

  • Exempt employees receive a fixed bi-weekly salary to compensate them for all hours worked during each pay period
