Energy Service Advisor

Position Summary:
This position is responsible for providing conservation and energy efficiency services to internal and external customers in support of the Cooperative’s strategic Initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain and operate a Cooperative vehicle safely and responsibly
- Present a positive attitude and proper business decorum when meeting members at their home or place of business
- Identify and prioritize energy saving measures
- Complete residential energy conservation audits and rebates
- Develop and implement conservation and energy efficiency programs
- Evaluate and approve residential and commercial rebates
- Ensure customer request, deadlines and program budgets are maintained
- Perform residential energy audits that include high bill complaints, equipment and appliance trouble-shooting
- Make energy conservation recommendations to customers
- Diagnose and problem solve residential conservation and energy efficiency issues
- Run energy modeling software to provide Return of Investment/ Deemed Savings on recommended energy efficiency upgrades or renewable energy installations
- Advise members on how to properly size distributed generation system
- Answer member inquiries about renewable energy, interconnection and conservation
- Review and approve interconnection agreements and supporting documents
- Verify that all distributed generation interconnections are following the Cooperative’s interconnection and tariff rates
- Approve or deny interconnection and tariff rate requests
- Work with Cooperative Department to resolve member inquiries
- Work with members and or contractors to resolve any interconnection issues
- Promote and effectively explain rates and services that are offered by the Cooperative
- Extract and analyze members load data and inform members of energy consumption patterns
- Advise residential consumers on rate options through analysis of metered data
- Track customer requests, deadlines and program budgets
- Make suggestions for improved customer service and efficiency
- Educate internal and external customers on conservation, energy efficiency and renewable programs and initiatives through audits, websites, community events
- Present Power Supply initiatives to internal and external customers
- Maintain and promote organizational efficiency and budgetary awareness
- Maintain the security of confidential information
- Stay abreast of advances in technology
Supervisory and/or Leadership Responsibilities: May be required to lead a group on various projects
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of using computer systems, which may include setting up and using hardware and software programs, entering data or processing information
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service
- Knowledge of National Electrical Code
- Knowledge of air conditioning, heating and refrigeration
- Knowledge of solar and wind generation
- Knowledge of demand side management
- Knowledge of building material and energy efficient building standards
- Skilled in time management
- Skilled in prioritizing and managing changing priorities
- Skilled in residential load calculation and duct installation
- Skilled in electrical troubleshooting and energy auditing
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Ability to listen and understand information verbally and in writing
- Ability to anticipate, identify, analyze and resolve conflict and problems
Minimum Qualifications – (Education, Experience, Certification, & Licensure):
- High School Diploma AND
- Five years of directly related experience
- Associate’s Degree in a related field AND
- Three years in the utility industry
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field AND
- Two years of directly related experience
- Completion of Manual J and D training preferred
- Valid Driver’s License

- Exempt employees receive a fixed bi-weekly salary to compensate them for all hours worked during each pay period
- This position may be required to work more than 40 hours per week
