Systems Analyst, Associate

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for the design, configuration, testing, implementation and support of technology such as Java, Windows, Android, iOS, MultiSpeak, Oracle and Microsoft SQL databases and SharePoint applications in support of the Cooperative’s strategic initiatives.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Champion business technology needs through the use of existing or emerging systems and applications
  • Review and analyze system problems in order to identify solutions
  • Adhere to Software Development Life Cycle
  • Gather requirements from key stakeholders using industry standard requirement elicitation techniques (brainstorming sessions, meetings, and/or workshops)
  • Analyze the requirements for viability against the business objective and determine the requested product’s application to existing or future technology identifying features, advantages, and disadvantages while keeping best business practices in mind
  • Validate the requirements by cross referencing them with other stakeholders and more senior level Analysts
  • Prepare technical requirements documents and detailed functional specifications to include flowcharts and basic technical information
  • Present requirements document to a more senior level Analyst or department manager for review
  • Present developed solutions to the Change Control process
  • Plan and track deliverables working within IT Projects and Initiatives
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in one core business area
  • Assist in organizing and conducting business process reviews with business users, stakeholders, and external vendors
  • Perform functional testing, i.e., unit, string, process control, security testing, regression, etc. as required to test existing, new or updated functionality
  • Provide second tier support to end users for applications through detailed analysis and troubleshooting of reported issues
  • Maintain the security of confidential information
  • Stay abreast of advances in technology

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the theory, principles and practices of system and application standards including the configuration and use of hardware and software
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service
  • Knowledge of relational databases and associated tools, Software Development Life Cycle, job scheduling tools and programming languages
  • Skilled in time management
  • Skilled in prioritizing and managing changing priorities
  • Skilled in utilizing pivot tables, databases and primary data sources for analysis
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
  • Ability to anticipate, identify, analyze and resolve conflict and problems


Minimum Qualifications – (Education, Experience, Certification, & Licensure):

  • Associate’s Degree, preferably in Computer Science, Business or other related field of study 
  • Directly related experience may substitute for education
  • Valid Driver’s License

  • Exempt employees receive a fixed bi-weekly salary to compensate them for all hours worked during each pay period.
