Position Summary

This position is responsible for creating, developing, presenting, and administering activities and programming associated with the Cooperative’s youth and education engagement initiatives.

 

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Cooperative’s spokesperson on youth and education engagement initiatives and programs
  • Research, develop, implement, and manage youth and education programs to school districts, area libraries and other community educational organizations
  • Utilize a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database, or similar system, to track educational entities’ requests and deadlines for completion
  • Create, establish and execute the Cooperative’s youth and education engagement plan
  • Research, create, develop and promote programs and deliver presentations on electrical safety, conservation and other organizational business to the Cooperative’s area youth and public education providers
  • Market youth and education engagement initiatives and programs to school districts, area libraries and other community educational organizations
  • Work cross-departmentally to develop programs that illustrate the Cooperative’s vision for safety, conservation, education, and engagement for youth initiatives
  • Create and coordinate youth presentations and offerings, utilizing resources from across the Cooperative
  • Develop and administer programs for Cooperative employees involved in PEC youth initiatives
  • Coordinate, staff and represent the Cooperative at youth and education events
  • Manage the Cooperative’s Youth Tour program and serve as the Cooperative’s representative of the program at the state level.
  • Act as the Cooperative’s representative on the annual Youth Tour
  • Manage the Cooperative’s Scholarship Program including developing, marketing, promoting, and administering the program to the Cooperative’s area school districts and young adult membership
  • Administer the Cooperative’s EmpowerU program including creation and facilitation of content that represents the Cooperative’s vision for youth education
  • Oversee the development and implementation of the Cooperative’s Young Adult Membership Engagement Program
  • Coordinate Summer Reading Program outreach to Cooperative’s area libraries
  • Develop and maintain databases of school districts, education foundations and public libraries, including contact information and interactions
  • Build and foster relationships through strategic networking with libraries, school districts, and education professionals/associations to build awareness of Cooperative initiatives and activities
  • Identify community partners to assist in developing and offering PEC youth and education initiatives
  • Maintain strong collaborative relationships with community education partners
  • Maintain awareness of advances in educational resources, tools and techniques
  • Participate at state wide and national professional organizations
  • Conduct research and maintain awareness of Cooperative initiatives as well as business, community and education related issues
  • Prepare proposals and executive summaries
  • Develop and implement programs; generating reports based on strategic performance metrics
  • Manage work projects and related budgets
  • Meet project deadlines
  • Maintain and promote organizational efficiency and budgetary awareness
  • Collaborate with fellow team members and actively participate in brainstorming and problem-solving efforts
  • Benchmark for best practices and make reports and recommendations to management
  • Present a positive image as a representative of the Cooperative
  • Maintain the security of confidential information
  • Stay abreast of advances in technology

Minimum Qualifications - (Education, Experience, Certification, & Licensing)

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in public administration, marketing, communications, education or a related field
  • Directly related experience may substitute for education
  • Three years of directly related work experience
  • Experience in the utility industry preferred
  • Teaching certification or relevant certification such as STEM teacher certification preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License

  • Exempt employees receive a fixed bi-weekly salary to compensate them for all hours worked during each pay period
